EIM Programs and Services
Workshops
The EiM workshops are the core of our program. These are lively 3 hour sessions held every morning over a two week period. The schedule and topics covered can be found on the side bar to the left but what is important to know is that we cover the full range of job search issues and all from the mature workers perspective. The interactive sessions are led by mature workers who have faced unemployment themselves and know what you are up against. The seminars offer specific strategies and techniques for overcoming ageism and landing work.
One-on-One Consultations
These consultations are really for and about our individual client's needs. They are often used to practice for an upcoming interview. They may, at our client's request, include the use of video as a learning tool. They can also be used to review a specific cover letter, application or a specific hurdle that the client is having difficulty with. These sessions are often scheduled after graduation as the client's job search is reaching a milestone or is stalling for whatever reason.
Alumni Events
The Alumni Events are held at 1:30 on the 4th Thursday of each month. They begin and end with formal and informal networking. The events also include a guest speaker from the Ottawa Business Community. Topics vary and we always allow time for questions.
Access to computers, internet and telephone
EIM has 4 computers with high speed internet access for our grads to do job search or develop cover letters and resumes. The Workstations are available from 8:30 -12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 Monday to Friday.
Breakfast Job Search Club
EiM facilitates a job search/networking breakfast club on the second Tuesday of each month at various local restaurants. The group meets to share experiences and opportunities while enjoying breakfast.
